I have a 2003 BX2200 with 680 hrs on it. I am experiencing a loss of power after app. 20 mins. of operation. I have replaced the fuel filters with no change in problem. I tested the fuel pressure after the second fuel filter and got app. 2 lbs of pressure both static and running. Suspect the fuel pump.

Need specs on fuel pump pressure to verifiy problem. Would appreciate any input ya'll can give.

Thanks, John

In the BX23 WSM, there is no mention of what the output psi of the electric fuel pump is. Basically all it indicates for checking it is to make sure it's got battery voltage to it with the key switch on and if you disconnect it and do a continuity check on the pump, it should read a very high continuity, almost a short. So if it pumps we must assume it's good.
Assuming the electric fuel pump is sufficient to get the fuel through the filters and into the injector pump where it's REALLY pressureized, I would suspect that you may have an obstruction in the fuel tank that could be partically blocking the output. With the fuel cap off, disconnect the fuel line before the 1st filter and use pressureized air to blow back into the tank. Some have reported hearing debris splashing when it clears.
If the problem still occurs then unfortunately you may have gotten ahold of some bad or contaminated fuel so the next step should be to drain it and refill with known good fuel.
Besides the filters, contaminated fuel and/or an obstructed fuel tank are the biggest causes of your problem. Don't go too deep until you've gotten all the easy cheap fixes done 1st.
Good luck

Volfant, I found my problem, not just bad diesel, but 50% gasoline. Apparently the station that I purchased from must have had gasoline put in their diesel tank. How much I don't know but I will talk to them tomorrow.

Thanks for the input, John

Why would it lose power in 20 minutes??

The engine was starting to seize... at least that's what happened to one BX I've seen...

If that engine was starting to lose power and seize up, the cylinders are probabley scored. Time for a rebuild or replacement. Hold that station's feet to the fire, they owe you big time.

Have cleaned out the tank. etc. and put good diesel in. Ran tractor for about 45 min. last night and currently all seems well.
Have also contacted Racetrac about problem and will advise as to outcome.

Scary. Having had multiple fuel problems on my 2200, I always get my fuel from the place where all the area farmers buy it, and use my Mr. Funnel.
I don't think Mr. Funnel could filter out the gas from the diesel, though.

Hope your tractor is OK.

I'd bet that the gas station won't do anything even after being told that there is gas in the diesel.
To better protect yourself, I would notify them in a registered letter, then get some more fuel and test that afterwards.
My money's on them doing nothing, and denying any damage done to your tractor.
