IF anyone has fuel stored and worried about water, you can take a small piece of a diaper and wrap it in as cloth. then tie a string to it.so you are able to pull it out through whatever access hole you have,, it will absorb water but not fuel...

Great info. How long do you leave it in before taking it back out?

Have you tried this yourself?

I find this hard to believe, likely another YouTube farce. If you put a diaper into your tank, it is going to swell up and you wont get it back out at least not in one piece. The resulting mess is going to screw up your fuel tank big time.

The stuff they use in diapers. Those small round pellets can absorb 400% their weight in liquid. I would doubt they are only hydrophilic and lipophobic. That they will not absorb the fuel. If they swell up you will not be able to pull it out of tank due to increase in size.

You shouldn't have any lipids in your fuel tank. If you do, there's probably a dead rat in there. :)

hydrophilic
adjective, Chemistry.
1. having a strong affinity for water.

This actually came from an engineer,, We are doing trials soon to renew old fuels like Jet fuel, Its called Polishing so as to bring it back to specs.
I mentioned that we have fuel wicking pads that aren't affected by water,, and then he told about taking a piece of the diaper and wrapping it in a cloth, so as to hold it all together.. easy enough to try in a jar...
