Hello Guys,
Just took delivery of my new LS XR4046H tractor. It came with an empty fuel tank. Had to go downtown and bring back new diesel fuel cans to fill it. I have no trailer for the tractor.
Upon filling the tank I managed to poke the fuel strainer at the entrance of the tank with the spout of the fuel can. It had one of those push pin activators on it. The pressure ridge was too short to hold with the push pressure and the entire spout shot into the fuel tank of the tractor. In process the long filter at the top of the tank entrance was shoved into the tank.
I don't think that will hurt the tractor fuel pump or anything but there is that thing now bouncing around inside the tank. Whenever I fuel up I just have to put screening in the fuel can or another screen at the top of the tank I guess.
My solution to get the thing out of the tank is to run the fuel low and then try to fish it out with a coat hanger. It is not metallic so I cannot use a mag pickup. I cannot see it in the tank so I am wondering if my poking around inside the tank trying to hook it out will damage anything. Just leaving it in should be okay I think. But, just can't stand the idea that it is in there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
