I have an old 641 ford tractor with a gasoline motor. What type of fuel and or additives should I be running?
This tractor was made when gas was leaded.

I'd go with a higher octane, at least 89, and a lead replacement additive. If she knocks go to a higher octane.

The only places to find leaded fuel these days are at airports and racetracks. Both sources would be way to high octane for your tractor without some serious fiddling, and would be prohibitively expensive as well.

I would think you need to run a non-ethanol gasoline for sure, as well as a lead additive.

You might consider talking to a couple car collector clubs as they would have had the same issues.

My dad has two 1966 forklifts that we have owned since 1999/2004. We run high octane with SeaFoam in them. Not sure about lead substitute, probably would not hurt, but I never use it.

We run mid-grade gas in all the gas farm tractors, you can add a lead substitute if you want.
The only issue is that the older gas motors don't have hard valve seats, they will wear faster without the lead lubrication,
especially when the engine is being worked hard. We don't bother with an additive when the engines get worn enough to require
head work or rebuilding hardened valve seats can be installed. It will take a lot of hours to wear them. You are more likely to get a head carboned
up and burn a valve then wear them out.
