Funny noise

I feel kind of silly with this one but this is why we are all here.
Bucket full off dirt, moving along in HST middle gear , low end of speed.
Hear a load pop .like running over a soda bottle. Nothing on the ground, no fluids leaking, everything is working so far. any body ever hear a noise like that?

Have you recently used your diff lock? It takes a while for mine to disengage,
and it makes a loud noise when it does. I have a Kubota, though.

Run over a groundhog? They can pop when you squish 'em.

Running over a ground hog would have made my day.
Was not using the diff lock. May have had it in 4WD and went from dirt to blacktop. The next post about ring gears in the front end has me nervous but that was on the next size up.

My loader pops sometimes when under load. It's where the loader arms go into the tractor posts. That area is under tremendous stress. Mine normally does it when I change directions from backdragging to digging as the stress shifts from forward to aft. There must be a tiny amount of movement that causes the "pop."

As Jim says. I asked this question too. My loader pops under load, but usually f/r shifting loads. Could be yours just settled in while traveling.

I agree with Jinman; my loader (7308) rear support arms can sometimes "pop" when loaded. Sometimes when going from 4 wd to 2 wd it will make a pop if under a load; either bucket load, hill or bound on dry pavement.

I heard my diff lock pop pretty loud a couple times. Both times I was in 4 wheel and used it to go through muddy spots without digging ruts while I was out plowing and when I made my turn at the end of the row it popped out loudly. My neighbors Kubota is always popping because he never takes it out of 4 wheel. He's got a very tight front diff. It's hard to turn in this hard pan sometimes with that 4 wheel engaged.

I have heard it with my TN70A. I look around to see what I ran over and find nothing. All is well. I am using my FEL with a very heavy load.
