I'll get better at taking before and after pictures, but here's a shot of the results of how I spent the first 6 hours on my new Mahindra (5 of them in the rain). Gracie, as my kids have named her has helped me clear a pad for her soon to be home. I had just enough time to clear and box blade this roughly 22'x22' square nestled under mostly shade before the heavy stuff came down and forced me to call it a day. Sandy loam, spots of clay, cedar roots and all were no match.
Being on the lower side of a sloping hill made preparing this spot a bit challenging, I dug a trench behind it and another wide in front...seems to have held up in the rain fairly well, some of the sand washed out in places though.
Tomorrow they bring me about 20 yards of base crusher. I can't really afford another implement so I'll see how the box blade fares as a gravel leveler. Going to have a metal garage built there to protect my new investment.
