Hey Folks,
This is my first posting after lurking for a while on this forum.... I have a FX32D we bought several months ago from a used tractor dealer here in Memphis area. I knew it was a Grey market tractor and expect problems. The only one I am not too happy with is the way the corrosion/rust was covered up by either dealer or who they bought it from. It looks great, they replaced most of the sheetmetal to make it look newish and repainted the whole tractor. No complaints there except a lot of rust was just painted over. I guess it was a coastal tractor in Japan before being exported. Ok, vented about that so here is my latest project on the Yanmar. After bushogging last week about 4 acres, I disengaged the pto and was getting onto the road to return to shop. I noticed the engine was getting hot trying to pull the tractor on paved road so red flag popped up.... brakes were sticking..... I have the wet brakes and no was to access them in the field, so I slowly made it back to shop to check out. The rear end got pretty hot b/c water steamed when sprayed on it when I was washing the grass off. After I checked out the brake system, I noticed the fluid bottle was empty. I traced the lines and found where a spacer clamp was installed, the 2 steel lines going to the internal brakes had a lot of corrosion where they were clamped. One was leaking so this solved the missing fluid problem. I took off the axles to check brake disc and they seem ok but one on right side had some blue hues where it got too hot I guess. My question is should I just clean and reassemble and replace the lines or should I replace lots of parts? Also, will dot 3 or 4 fluid work ok in brake system???
