hey everyone
I'm just trying to get some info on fx models, mostly part availability.
I do have some experience with the ym models. I've had 3 2000's which I love. I'm just needing something a little bigger and heavier.
I have a line on a fx28d which appears very nice.
also I've never had a power shift trans. how are they?
anyway thanks for any help.

I've enjoyed my Fx over the past yr. Do like the power shift. I typ don't shift gears from dead stop without using the clutch. Shift on the go can be very useful in some situations. Only down side I can think of is, no trans fluid, and tractor can't move on it's own.

Bought my tractor from Ernie and he has said the only part difficult to get is differential ring gear. Would also think any decent dealer would have several parts tractors that can be robbed from or have access to same.

Ditto with Mickey's info. I've had mine since 99. No problems with parts, haven't needed any. Did get a Voltage Regulator replaced. Hoye and JD had parts.

ok thanks for the info
I was concerned because I called one parts dealer and was told there were really know parts for this tractor yet and I should stick with a ym series.
thanks mark

There are very few aftermarket parts for that model....that is true. You will be reliant on dealers that sell that model and stock parts, primarily from Japan, for that model. If you are content with that, you will be fine. Contrary to what was stated in an earlier post, I would not expect more than a very small number of dealers to have ANY of that model as parts tractors. I do think we are a decent dealer, and we have never had an FX model on the lot. Just a matter of what we choose to sell based on how we feel we can support it. I would not suggest buying one from a source that will not support you directly. If you're going to buy a less common model like that, definitely buy from Ernie or someone else with a credible history in this market.

Ernie = Tractor Ernie. Posts here on the forum. Here is a link to his web site. Located in Oregon about 30 mi from Salem. Used compact tractors, Japanese tractors and farm tractors

Ernie has Fx models all the time. Last time over there several months ago he said he had 2 Fx parts tractors. They were both the smaller 3-cyl models and not the larger 4-cyl ones.
