FX28D Hydraulic flow/ add a backhoe?

Hi all,

I've always had a desire to dig the odd hole/trench and I hate using a shovel!

I have heard several pros/cons to adding a small backhoe attachment to the FX28D and I'm still debating the idea.. What do you think? 3 point OK, or weld up a frame mount?

Seems 'hoes need a fairly healthy (10 to 12 GPM) of pump flow.

What is the flow of the FX28D? It would seem easier to add rear hose connections to the tractor (come off the FEL connections on top of the rear axle), rather than add a PTO pump..

Thoughts?

I think your FX28d might put out closer to 7gpm. I think you would need a pto pump.

I had two FX42Ds with 3 point backhoes on them, but I was very careful in how I used them.
They had their own pump and hyd tanks. They worked ok for digging holes(carefully)
