this vehicle, to me, seems so over-rated --

-- i love the open air feeling of the 900 -- that's just me though -- and $5K more for all that stuff?

it's just not me --

I think it depends on what your intended use is. I will be putting Mattracks on mine in the winter and using it to groom trails with and plow snow. You would spend almost 4k with all the options putting a hard cab on a 900 and would not have as nice of a set up as the factory installed cab found on the 1100. In the summer months you could take the doors off and have the open air feeling

Exactly, many folks (especially up north) put a cab on their RTV900 and for about $1k more you get a much nicier factory cab with A/C on the RTV1100. So, it's not over-rated if you want more comfort in hot or cold climates i.e. year-round comfort.

If the open air feeling is what you like...you still have the RTV900.

First, let me state that the RTV900 is a fine machine. Truth is, the RTV1100 shares basically the same platform. Prior to the RTV1100s' introduction, if you wanted a cab, you had to go with an aftermarket bolt-on unit, aftermarket heater etc. A good solution no doubt. However, having driven both models, the cab on the 1100 is superior, as you would expect a factory cab to be. The a/c is an added bonus. Plus, pricewise, it's about the same money as an RTV900 with cab and heat. As a new model, the 1100 is more refined than the 900, again, as it should be. The RTV900 remains a great choice for those who don't want a cab, the extra weight, or the extra size altogether. I look at it this way, each machine shines in it's own way and it sure is great to have a choice.
