I've mounted a tiller attachment to my G152 and the turnbuckles on both sides were rubbing on the tires when I was on a slight slide slope.

I took off the turnbuckles, but, of course, the arms move extensively to right and left, also rubbing into the tires. Is there any way to both remove the turnbuckles AND still have good lateral control without rubbing on the tires?Any way to chain things up?

thanks

I had the same issue when I first bought by G154. I ended up replacing the turnbuckles with slightly smaller turnbuckles, and I really tightened down the turnbuckles. You could reverse your rear tires, and that should gain a bit more clearance, however it is a tricky predicament. I found that tightening the turnbuckles to the point that I had zero movement when my attachment was on, kept the tires from rubbing. I have seen turnbuckles that mount on the inside, and you could try that with yours, but it would push the base out further. One thing that really helped with mine, was I replaced the main rod that holds the lift arms. It sells on eBay for $34.00. It would be worth replacing if yours is bent at all. You can slide the old bar through the rim in the large hole, and put the the new rod in through the same hole. One of the more convient things that they did when they designed the tractor. Hope that helps a bit!

Run them from the inside as Mitch says - here's a picture of my 3PH. Although it could do with a shorter lower through-bar it doesn't seem to matter much when hooked up.

Have you got a picture of how yours are set up now?

Put your turnbuckles (stabilizers) on the inside like Mitch and Dantnz suggest, or if you have space on your tiller attachment to put in some spacers to the outside of the lower lift arms. Depending on your tiller set up, you may just be able to put the attachment pins to the inside of the attachment point there by reducing the span of the lower lift arms when they are attached. As with most things, there is more than 1 way to skin the proverbial cat!

BTW, those stabilizer links are just that, there only there to keep side to side movemnet of the implement to a minimum. They dont need to be, and shouldnt be super tight. if your binding your stabilizers against your rear tires, you need to find a way to reduce the width of the lower lift arms when hooked to the implement.

On each of my 3 pt attachments that I use on my G154, I have turned the lower pins inward. It helps a lot in keeping the tires away from the lift arms. I am sure there are attachments where you can't do this, but I was able to on all of mine that I use on it.
