Has anyone ever put a fuel shutoff valve between the tank and the first filter for easier filter changing? Why didn't Kubota do this.:confused:

Its not a priority for them. You can purchase one of the Briggs and Stratton fuel shut off valves with the barbed ends sized for the tubing, and a pair of hose clamps and its done.

I always have used a hose clamp tool K-D Tools 3791 3/4" Hose Pinch-Off Pliers for under 20 dollars you will find that you will use them on every thing you work on.
