I have a G1800 with 4ws. The rear tires are 23x8.5-12. I have a line on some replacements (current ones show weather cracking, but should hold up another season or two) but they are 23x9.5. Is it possible that I'd get away using them? It seems like I have the clearance and the difference is only 1/2 inch on either side.

Any insight appreciated

Hi Ruralx. I have a G1900S and faced a similar problem. I think the answer might depend on the deck you have (48/54/60). I'd say it will be close.

I wanted larger tires so I installed 23x10.5x12 tires. The larger tire on the right side (while sitting on tractor) rubbed the rear deck wheel. I just removed the rear deck wheel and see absolutely no difference in functionality. The hydraulics seem to hold the deck stable enough. Seems too easy, but it works for me!

Good luck! Jeff
