We saw a Kubota G1800 with 1575 hrs in average condition for sale that we are going to call on tomorrow, can anyone tell me what this mower is worth? How many hrs do these typically go before trouble starts? Thanks in advance for any info!! Were not sure of the year.
The only issues I have had so far (100+ added hours) are:
- Contact switches are starting to fail. I bypassed the seat switch, and have had to lube up the clutch and PTO switches
- The main drive shaft (from engine to hydro tranny) failed (actually the sealed bearings failed) and I had to replace. If the main drive shaft universal joints are loose, you may have this issue. $220 parts and a couple of hours.
I bought a G1800S (S=AWS) with unknown hours on it this May for $2300. The hour meter died at 53 hrs, so I have absolutely no idea how many hours.
I put PTO belts on it, and blades. It works great.
A G1900S (approx 900 hrs) with the rare rear PTO and three point hitch sold for approx $2600 on ebay (from a dealer only an hour away from me) just a week later, but I couldn't bid, as my wife would have really flipped if I got a 2nd one in as many weeks. It's bad enough that I just bought my 2nd B7100 (an HST this time) in as many months. ("Hello, my name is Jay, I'm a tool addict....")
In general G1800's and G1900's seems to go for $2000-$3000 depending hours and condition.
