G1800S Belt Change (BX is probably the same) ????

My G1800S has the engine in "backwards" like the BX, so the alternator/fan belt is around the driveshaft to the HST. I need to put a new alternator/fan belt on (the old one came off easily; it broke when my alternator seized up (see http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...rebuild-covers-very.html?highlight=alternator).

What is the easiest way to do this? Do I have to remove the driveshaft?
