I would greatly appreciate if anyone has used the Galaxy tire while pushing snow? I've got them on a 4400 and never used them on snow.At the most I'm talking about pushing a foot of snow with a rear blade. Thanks. Neven

Do you have front-wheel-assist? If not, you probably won't get far. Turf tires tend to "ball" up and render their tread just about useless in the winter. Maybe you can find a set of chains that will fit? Good luck!!!

First good snow storm..14"..I tried just turf tires and it did pretty darn well, but as winter went on plus a grade in the drive way there was also ice to deal with and I scooted and purchase a good set of rear tire chains, and now when winter comes a knocking I make darn sure the tire chains are on.

Thanks for the inputI guess chains will be on order and with the Galaxy tires I have 4-5 inches clearance.

I don't have Galaxy turf tires (slightly larger than basic turf tires and generally designed for golf course and specialty turf uses), but I will comment on turf tires in general.

I just went through an Alberta winter with my B2410 with turf tires. We had a pretty good amount of snow this year and several times I was plowing in excess of 10" of new snow. I do not have chains and traction was never a problem. To say that turfs don't work in snow is not a fair statement at all. If the snow is wet and sticky it could ball up the tires but in cold weather where the snow remains relatively loose this does NOT happen. I even went "cross country" many times throught the back acres pulling the kids on a sleigh. No traction problems what-so-ever.

Are chains a good idea for turf tires in the winter? Maybe. It depends on your climate and the type of snow you have (wet or dry) and I would expect that you might find Galaxy turf tires have less grip than regular turfs.

Just my $0.02

I had turfs on my 4WD B8200, and NEVER had and traction issues beyond trying to push snow on top of ice. Chains on the rears took care of that!
