Found this galvanized draw bar at a tag sale for $1. Wondering if anyone recognizes it from a particular brand tractor, or is it just a generic draw bar?
Its 3" wide, 1/2" thick, 4.5" drop (or lift), 18" overall length.
Most draw bars for tractors that I have seen are straight (no drop) and made a lot thicker than that one. In fact, I distinctly recall the drawbar on the little 21hp JD 750 that I used to have was about 2" wide x 1.5" thick x about 20" long. It was one heavy chunk of metal. I suspect yours came off of something other than a tractor, but that's just a guess.
You guys are right on. Just confirmed that it's an older Class I receiver that was bolted rear bumpers and used in the 60's and 70's to pull light trailers. I'm told this was before the advent of today's hitch receivers. thanks for the input.
