Game Camera for turkeys

I put up the game camera last weekend hoping to get some photos of wild turkeys. A week and 845 pictures later this is all I have to show. Not many turkeys here. A lot of fox, racoons, and deer though. I put up a hen decoy this afternoon. Maybe that will help.

I saw a wild turkey this morning while walking the dogs. For a bird that big they can fly pretty good. They seem to like open fields to feed, especially fields that have corn or soybeans on the ground. They also like to hangout where there is water. So if you have a cornfield near a stream that would be a good place for your camera.

When I got back from Ace Hardware this morning, I stopped by the Country Store close to where we live. This store is where most of the area Hunters go to have their game weighed and have a picture taken, and the food at the inside grill is excellent. I saw two Turkey hunters weigh in a Tom Turkey that weighed 26 pounds. They were hunting on the Caswell Game Lands.

We have a few here. In the five years we have lived here we have only seen two on our place. I do hear hens cackling in the woods every spring. I enjoy looking at the pictures from the game camera. Its a very nice ATV ride to and from the places the camera is set. Its something that I wouldn't do if I didn't have the camera.
