Thie engine has been in our family for more than 80 years. Last started 1955. Overhauled last vinter(s) and started today!

Interesting old engine- thanks for posting. What equipment did it once drive? How many horsepower (or KW) does it likely have?

I have to ask about the guy in the orange pants and the guy with the yellow pants- are they fire fighters? (in case of an explosion/accident)

Thank you for responding! The engine is rated 24 horsepower at 400 rpm. It used to power a sawmill. The guys in orange and yellow pants are me and my son. Just construction working clothes. We could need a firefighter because the engine is preheated with a gas powered blowtorch which tend to fall off the engine whwn it starts, but so far so good!

Ah- a small preheating torch- I wondered what that piece was that fell out when it first started.

It seems like the operator is adjusting something quite a bit during the video- was it a fuel feed control? Or?

Where can I get some of those pants? My wife tends to lose me and can't find me. She can't miss me in those pants. Nice old engine.

Interesting, did you rebuild to use it or just to see if you could get it running again? If you are going to use it, what will you be using it for. Thank you for sharing.

It was rebuilt just to get it running. We started the overhaul back in the 70ties, but suddenly we were married and with children. Children grown up now, so we gathered all the pieces that had been lying around for 40 years, and as a miracle we found all parts. We had to make new piston rings and cast new bearings. We will use it just for show, even if the sawmill it belongs to is still standing. Maybe one day it will be back in the mill.
