I have a 60" Bobcat ZTR (I think it is a ZT223A) and the left plastic gas tank somehow got a hole in it. The hole is like a 2" slit from a knife blade. I don't know how it got there, but it could have been a neighborhood problem kid since the mower is sitting outside. Anyway, is there a way to successfully patch the hole in the plastic? Or any ideas on where I can buy a new tank? It looks like they are about $85-90 online, and I do not really want to spend that much just for the convenience of a second tank. I have not called the dealer yet for a price. Unfortunately, there was one on eBay a few days ago that sold for $31+shipping, but I was outbid by $1!

Some plastics can be "welded" using methylene chloride, but I don't about the plastic used for fuel containers. I'd guess they'd be pretty resistant to most chemicals. You may have to bite the bullet and just get one from the dealer. Another option might be to have a local welder fab one out of metal.

How do you remove the gas tank on a Bob Cat ZTR.
