Gator blades for 60\"mmm rear discharge deck

Does NH have a part number for Gator blades for a 60" mmm rear discharge deck ( model 914A ) ? What is the cost per blade ?

How does the Gator blade compare to the standard blade in mowing performance ? Is the Gator blade worth it's cost ? If you were buying blades for your mowing deck, what would you buy ?

One our other members bought a set for a 72" and was charged about $15 each from his NH dealer. Try searching on Gator in the NH forum. Or search on thcri (aka murph) and send him a PM.

I was at the dealership Jerry (Inspector507) bought is TC18 from a couple of weeks ago and picked up some oil & filter. I was asking about blades for mine. The regular NH blades were around $22.xx each, highlift were around $23.xx each, and the Highlift Gatorblades were $21.xx each and they would have had to order those. I didn't buy any at the time. I'm glad. When I sharpened mine they were in perfect shape other then needing sharpened. A long way from my days of "Well honey, I have to order another said of blades for the lawn mower, I broke another set."

I figured if I was looking for this information that other people would also be lokking for or needing this part number.
I did a search in past post last night and found the NH part number for the Gator blades that will fit a 60" deck (914A). The part number is 8772891. Can anyone verify that this is correct ? I have no cost to the part number yet. It looks like they might cost about $22.xx .

I've used aftermarket blades (silverstreak I think) on my Craftsman lawn tractor, but found that for my Woods, the steel is just not the same. One, even slight, wop of a rock, and the blades bent ever so slightly. Woods mush use a superior spring steel because although the cutting edge may need to be resharpened, the blade overall is just fine. The are definitely worth a few extra bucks.

Hey guys, I did buy the Gator blades. Only used them twice last year and once as of last night this spring. I love them and would not go back to anything else. The grass clippings are much smaller and my wheel tracks pretty much don't show up any more with the high lift. The Gator blades also has quieted my mower down even due to moving more smaller clippings. One thing is they do rob some horsepower. I paid around $18.00 each for my 72" and someone else here even bought some from my dealer and had them shipped to his place. Can't remember who that was.

Long story short, my dissapointment in my mower has gone away and I love the way it cuts now with my new Gator blades. I have a couple of sets of the regular blades for my 72" if anyone is interested in them. would sell cheap.

OH yes, Gator will not sell blades if you tell them it is for a New Holland. I was told there is some agreement between New Holland and Gator. New Holland ended up being cheaper anyway.
