Ok, so been wanting one for a while..and think the time is right.

I personally think the 590 will meet my needs just fine...but looking at the pricing on a 835e - it might be better to wait and buy bigger.

I get the 835e will be a 都tripped down edition - and actually prefer that idea. Was hoping to find a nice used small - but locally not much, and what there is seems rather high - especially given I can get 0% 60 month on the new.

Also debating a S4 - not sure I値l need the extra seating, but figure it痴 better buy bigger than be too small and regret it. Thoughts - is the power steering really worth 1500 more on a 590 ?

The power steering is really nice depending on who the operators are going to be, for youth and elderly it is super nice and well worth the investment. Or if planning to add front attachment like a blade then it is also pretty nice to have. Otherwise for a capable adult power steering is not really necessary for these units. One of the cooler points imao of the new 835's, etc is the 3 person seating when in a split bench configuration. Power steering is a little more convenient on the bigger machines since they can be loaded up so much heavier and front attachments like a blade are quite a bit heavier.

I bought a 2015 550, great crossover vehicle, traded a year later for the 825I which my salesman told to buy to begin with. It all depends on your use, if it's more play than work, i'd go with the 590, hands down on the 835 if you're looking for a work vehicle, better ride, stability, low end power. the S4's are great for getting hung up, might consider a winch with one of those.
The PS is worth it, aftermarket kits are cheaper & fairly easy to install.

Lots of video and reviews on YouTube for various models. Choice depends a lot on how you plan to use the machine.
Son had a RSX850i and traded up to RSX860i. Main use seems to be as hot rod / trail machine for him and 2 teen boys. Fast like crazy. So far the older kid has only rolled it once.

I've a 4x2 gator, and the neighbor has an X8xx something.. His is a "pig" compared to the 4x2 for getting around, turning sharp, and handling without power steering. But the 4x2 only seats two people.. I borrow his when guests get shown around the place.
But for chores and getting around quick, plus small storage space.. I'd not advise getting a 4 seater..

This thread made me look at the 835R, it would be nice to have a new lawn cart. I have a 2005 HPX. I would love to have power steering for when I am spraying around the buildings and other stuff. To get by, I mounted a thumbuster to the wheel and max-out the front tire air pressure.

We have a 10 year old 620i. The steering is pretty stiff when the snowplow is mounted, and without the plow the steering wheel jerks a bit when travelling across rocks, and my wife complains about the steering. I would not purchase another Gator (or similar UTV) without power steering.
