Gator Toothbar on my 2520

Installed my new toothbar tonight. The 3rd one that was sent to me by Gator Attatchments. I ordered it with 6 teeth for my 53" bucket. The first one came with 5. I called them up and they did not hesitate to make me a new one and send it out. The 2nd came with 6 teeth only problem was, it wouldn't fit in the bucket. Another call and another is made. Got it today, with 6 teeth and it fits!! I have all my metal cut out to reinforce my bucket. Taking it to a buddy of mine next week to get it all welded. A 1/4"x 3"x 4" angle on top of the bucket. I cut the 3" leg down to 1 5/8". 1/4" x 1 1/2" flat stock to be welded on the sides of the bucket. I'll post some picks when it is all done.

Mercmaniac The angle on the top of the bucket is that just to stiffen up the top of the bucket or something additional to weld your hooks and hitch onto?

The reason I ask is a friend of mine was looking at a new 2520 and mentioned to me that he should weld some steel possibly under the top of the bucket to stiffen it up as he thought it was to weak in that area from the factory.

I've been trying to get a price from Gator. Sent them email on Monday, no response so far. Website is still down. Looks like I might be going with Iowa Farm Equipment.

Nice job, well thought out. I really like your top plate ideas.

An unexpected benefit of using the tooth bar for me in stripping sod, is I don't need 4wd engaged.

Give them a call at 1-888-453-6252. I ordered a toothbar from them a couple of weeks ago and the big brown toy truck showed up with it 5 days later. I just had shoulder surgery so I haven't been able to see if it fits. But, it is very well made with excellent welding. According to my tape measure it should have about 3/16" clearance on each side.
