I am now a Partner In a Agriculture Related Production Business and Had the Idea of Producing some Seasonal Equipment for the professionals as well as the small farmers such as myself.

I had the idea of producing the simple Mount that has been done before on here going from the Skid steer style quick attach mounts (bobcat kubota, john deere, etc.) to the standard meyers snow plow mounts.

I thought id gauge some interest in this before throwing money at production. Of course this would be a very reasonably priced item, Im not try to retire on one of these or anything.

If you would, We would love to here some input on this or any other ideas you might have, Thank You!

I've never been really satisfied with my design for mounting an old Meyers plow to the QA on my TC40DA. I would certainly been interested in a reasonable priced mount.

Another on-going hunt is for reasonably priced gauge wheels that can be added to various model rakes, rear and box blades. Again, I've tried a few designs listed here, but am not satisfied. This would be more difficult because you wouldn't have a standard mount. But a good standard set of components that could be welded on or used a 2" receiver mount for easy movement between attachments would be a great product.

What about something like this from Berlon?

Times 2! Also, I've often thought making implements so they could go on the loader or on the three point hitch. For example, there are times when it would really be neat to mount my loader bucket on the three point hitch. It would also be useful to place a ripper on the front.

Make that x3 for a pair of gauge wheels on a reasonably universal adjustable frame.

Im working on something for you guys as far as the gauge wheels, Its tough to find a spot on the market that hasnt been done, me and my partner are doing are best to not step on anybodys toes, I just dont want to take the food off of some familys table for my success.

I too have though of this but It cuts down on your versatility so much by not having the tilt, If you could incorporate in with a hydraulic top link it would work great, Ive thought of the bobcat mount which would open you up to possibility such a as 3ph (forks, buckets, bale spears etc.)

Ill do my best to get something to show you guys soon, Just for thoroughness what would you guys pay for a good gauge wheel setup that you could add on the whatever you have?

Thanks for your input guys!!

Pricing is always an issue, especially for attachments that you think you might be able to build yourself. The Berlon QA snowplow attachment listed above was quoted to me at $475 plus $100 shipping. No way I'm going to pay that sort of price for a basic QA plate with some simple bar stock welded on. But that might be the price it takes to make a profit and if you are going to be in business, you better be making a profit.

I think it would be useful to determine your cost and how much profit you would need to make on each unit to make it worthwhile. Then look at units already on the market (gauge wheel kits for rakes for example) and see how your pricing compares. If you can produce a product at a reasonable profit for less, then I'd say you would find a market here. Especially if it could be adopted to several implements.

Yeah as with any business it all comes down to money and I believe there is more profit potential on the bigger attachments but If I had one or two smaller items to get a foothold in the market it would be fantastic. Time will tell I guess but I dont rush into anything for sure and my economics background makes me more hesitant.

By the way I love your Farm Jeeps. Ive got a 46 CJ2a and a 49 CJ3a Myself.

If you could hit $300 for a good set of gauge wheels, maybe $350 that would be interesting to a number of people I expect. Any more and you would be better off adapting a rake kit.

Personally I'm now thinking about $400 ish in materials & finally getting a plasma cutter for making my own land plane instead of gauge wheels for my box blade.

I know this is older, but this is something I would be interested in for sure, a plow mount that is...
