GB 260

I have a Kioti LK3054 that has a Great Bend 260 Loader. I just bought the tractor last week and I have no manuals. I am trying to figure out how to properly remove the loader so I can go over the engine and check things out. In particular I want to check the battery because it is cranking very slowly. Problem is I cannot raise the hood far enough to get to the battery with the loader in place. I have checked at the Bush Hog website but I could not find one. Any help would be appreciated.

I have to remove the hood on my Yanmar to check the engine out, but it's a lot easier than removing the FEL. I just raise the bucket up all the way (make sure you're on solid, level footing) then remove the 2 hinge bolts and off she comes.

I AM NOT IN FRONT OF THE MACHINE BUT I FIGURED I COULD RAISE THE LOADER UP AND OPEN THE HOOD. HAVE NOT TRIED THAT YET. I STILL WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE LOADER TO BUSH HOG SOME OPEN FIELDS AND I DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF A LOADER HANGING OVER MY HEAD WHILE I WORK ON MY ENGINE.

I had two GB260's. Is yours a quick tatch? There is a nut under the mast on each side (lower the loader with the front tires off the ground) remove nuts, swing strap down it will be out of the way. raise loader slowly and back up at the same time. The loader will slide along the front brackets. The loader frame that raps around the front of the tractor will set on the ground, it acts as a parking stand. By now the tractor should be away from the loader frame, release all hyd pressure and unhook hoses.

Are you saying to raise the front tires completely off the ground? How far? It does have a large nut under each main attachment point. I don't think mine has a let down stand. I will look as soon as I can get home before dark. Maybe it is supposed to and it is missing. Or are you saying that part of the loader acts as a stand /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
