GC 1705 in snow

as I said earlier if running chains will need wheel spacers on GC series, but even if NOT using chains the spacers help you year round.

yes... I can't tell you if you should run chains or not, but if you do then spacers are a must have.

This is looking from the front side of the left rear without spacers.

Ok where do I get spacers? Do they go by the size of the tire?

based on bolt spacings on hub/rim. do not know if GC1705 and GC2400 are the same.
this is what I ordered for my GC2400

I used M12 x 1.5 mm x 50 mm Long bolts, drove them in from backside of hub (making them studs) with loctite. let dry. then installed spacers and used lugnuts (with loctite) off a 2013 ford escape to secure the spacer to the hub assy.
then let it all dry again.
then put tractor rim on and used the included lugnuts with NO loctite.

but again, I do not know if what fits my older GC will fit yours.

I considered them but wanted to get away from hub bolts and convert to studs so spent 40$ on the 10 M12 x 1.5 mm x 50 mm bolts. flat head (no taper) so drove in from rear of hub, end result about the same but rear of my hub plate only has a bolt head that is 1/4 tall.
to each their own, used this manner on many garden tractors.
takes bit more labor though to set up safely.

edit: myself and others around me have lost rims off garden tractors (many brands) due to the wheel bolt to flat axle plate (which GC uses) vs wheel studs. convert the plate to studs and even if the plate threads strip the bolt and included nut clamp rim on.
