GC 1710 backing up

I bought a 2016 GC 1710 fel,bh,used with 400hrs,love it,everything works great,all kind of hyd.power to lift heavy objects and dig with bh.When I bought it,there wasn't much prior history so I changed all filters and fluid with MF OEM parts,my question is,it doesn't have much power backing up,even in low range,all kinds of power going forward,but you can't pull on anything with a chain or otherwise backing up,is that normal,I believe the 1710s have 2 hyd.pumps,one for tractor and one for all the hyd.attachments.My 22hp hydro static Husquvarna lawn tractor doesn't have alot of power backing up either....is this normal on a 1710.

Check the linkage on the reverse pedal. The tractor also has more torque, the less you depress the pedal. Push it all the way down and it has less torque but more speed. Range selector is also important. High range won't pull anything substantial. Depending on angle, the rear end may be lifting resulting in traction lose on the rears.Low range, 4WD for best results.

I am in low range 99% of the time.

Only time I ever use high is just going somewhere,anytime I'm working its in low range.

DMW,I found the reverse pedal stop under the black mat,ran it in,until linkage stopped,backed it back out about 1/8".I got all kinds of back up power now,the linkage was kinda sloppy and just not opening the valve much,works great now,thanks.

Good to hear. The swash plate pumps' output is determined by the angle of the plate, which is adjusted by the linkage.
