Has anyone put fluid in their 26x12x12's? I was wondering how much windshield washer fluid each wheel would hold so I know how much to buy and not have to make several trips to the store. I also was wondering if anyone put fluid in the front tires cause when I use the plow or the tiller I would rather have the loader off for maneuverability, not that it would add much. Thanks

I've heard Manufactures don't recommend fluid filled front tires on tractors with front loaders.

It puts 2 much strain on the front axle and the front wheel drive components.

I haven't done it, but according to the Rim Guard web site: Rim Guard Hydro-Flation Tables for Agricultural Tires | Drive Wheel Tires | Terra Tires | Light Construction Tires it will take 8.3 gallons for that size to get 75% full with the valve stem at 12:00.

Good luck,
Jay

When I first bought my 2300 I had the front tires fluid filled to balance the machine when I used the rear mower (without the front loader). I couldn't say how much fluid it takes though.

The fluid worked good until I was removing brush and a small stump went through the tire and relieved it of it's filling. I now have all four tires foam filled and don't have to worry about flat tires anymore.

Interesting...how much weight does it add? How much did it cost? And where does one get tires foam filled?

Thanks!
Jay

When you put foam in the tire does it ride rough? When you have to replace the tires do you have to replace the wheels too? Does the foam filled tires weigh more then washer fluid?

I don't recall what it cost or the weight at the moment (will look at my stuff) but I had the dealer do it.

There are a couple different types of foam. I got the lower density stuff so it doesn't ride too rough.

I don't know about changing rims but I would think that if you want to get the tire off the rim with foam, it would have to be cut off.

Although I don't know the %, the foam is definitly heavier than washer fluid. I changed both tires (fluid and foam).

Something to keep in mind is if you are using the tractor for finish mowing (nice yard) the fluid might be the better choice since it won't track so much. I ended up buying a set of turf tires to use when I mowed, before I stopped using the GC for mowing.

I talked to my local tire center (TCI tires) and Brian said that on a 26x12x12 it adds 150 lbs per tire and cost $210.00 each. I asked if it made it ride rough and he said the foam he has is a softer foam then others have and would still ride like a fluid filled tire and when the tire wares out you just use a saw to cut them and the foam comes right off the rim, but washer fluid adds 80 lbs per tire if it could be filled with 10 gallons and cost around $20.00. So I guess it comes down to 300 lbs for $420.00 or 160 lbs for $40.00???????

And after you cut the tire off, how do you put the foam back in?? Do you have to pay for more new foam?? Sounds expensive.
