I have a GC2300. My fuel filter will not stay full. Stays at about 1/3. When I drained the tank. I allowed it to drain through the Fuel filter into a container. I have cleaned the fuel tank which did have some dirt that looked like tiny plastic shavings from the inside of the tank. After filling the tank. When I tried bleeding the air out of the system. In my book it states there's a over flow pipe. On the top of the fuel filter, there's an opening in the housing and Ill bet there use to be a small hose attached there at one time. For a little while there I thought one of the lines was leaking. I had snipped off the ends of the rubber hoses and obtained the appropriate hose clamps and they are not leaking. I filled the tank full, since its gravity fed and still the fuel bowl stays at 1/3. When the tractor sits at a very slight incline. The tractor stalls.
Starved for fuel! Any advice be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have some air trapped inside the bowl.I know the book says that there's a drain for the bowl but I've never found one on mine. The book also says that if the engine runs and stops etc: you have to bleed air out of the system. What you can do is maybe loosen the fuel bowls spanner nut and turn on the key to pump some fuel through the lines and possibly get rid of any air thats inside the bowl. With a electric fuel pump its usually not hard to get a Diesel engine running due to the fuel being pushed through the system.Another thing would be to loosen the hose clamp and remove the hose from the injection pump and turn on the key untill all the air is purged from the fuel filter and the lines that run to the injection pump. What I should have also mentioned is that when ever I change the fuel filter on mine I'll leave the spanner nut loose turn on the fuel Valve and wait untill the bowl is full of fuel before tightening up the spanner nut, this way it lets all the air out before I actually tighten the nut.

Older GC tractors had a hose on one side of the tank only causing them to run out of fuel on a slope if the hose was on the uphill side. After a year or 2 they put a hose on both sides. Not sure but I think there was a kit or a bulletin fir it.
