The hose coming off of the trans suction filter is collapsing (under volume) when the tractor is running. The FEL is not as fast as it used to be and the Hydro unit is whining at high RPM setting. I removed and cleaned the suction filter. The hose is still being collapsed. Is the next item to change the hydro filter? Any other caused for this problem? Didn't have the hydro filter on hand to change at the time.

Maybe it's time to change the hose. The hose is pretty short there's not more then 1 1/2" gap between the two, metal tube's that the hose fits over,.As for it being the hydro filter don't believe that it'll cause the problem. The suction screen has to more then likely be the problem, maybe replace it.The suction screen sits right in the bottom of the trans housing where all the oil is so the hydralic pump sucks the oil from there not the filter. Now it's a possibility that you've got the wrong oil in the trans.Could be to heavy to pass thru the screen. Have you changed the oil lately and maybe put the wrong stuff in ??? There's really nothing to restrict the oil in the trans from being drawn into the suction screen so don't really know what else to say unless there's something stuck in the metal tubing.Larry

Thats all I can say Dean as I do know there's nothing other then that screen that goes into the bottom of the trans[oil sump] and maybe it;s somehow restricting the oil ???? other then that the oil should flow freely and not cause the hose to collapse keep us posted as to what happens with the new screen.Larry

I did replace both the element filter and the screen filter. added hydro fluid. Still had the same issue. I noticed that the rubber hose was still collapsing. I changed the hose and the problem is 99.9% gone. Know only under heavy load does the hydro pump wine. I am looking for a stronger walled hose to eventually install. Thanks for your help Larry.

What about an internal spring, to keep the hose from collapsing, like radiator hoses have?
