GC 2300 Will Not Start

I was driving my Massey GC 2300 down the road and it just shut down. The lights work and the signal lights work. When I turn on the ignition switch nothing the fuel gage does not work no ticking from the fuel pump no lights come on the dash and the starter
will not crank. Ideals?

There have been a number of ignition switch failures. Some were corrosion, some had a broken wire off the back.

That could cause what you described.

It's difficult to see the back side of it, because it's crammed in there pretty tight.

Yes it is crammed in there very tight. I will focus on that area and see what I can find. Thanks for the reply.

Sucess found the problem. It was a 10 AMP fust that was housed in a white container with three other fuses.It is the red fuse.Thanks for all of the help.

Great! (Don't we love the easy fixes?)

You might want to check to see if you can figure out why that fuse blew, however. Does it look like it was a short? (If so, fuse would be really blown apart, not just melted.)

Yes easy fixes are awesome! The fuse link inner wire was melted. It didn't look real bad. It was raining a lot maybe something got wet. Still running ok. I will keep looking for a bare wire.

How do you like your GC 2360 snow blower?

Absolutely love it! Even better performance since I lined both the chute and the fan/blower cavity with UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) sheet as per "bumperm"'s recommendation (see thread "Orange on Red"). A fair amount of work, but the results were well worth it.

Especially with all the snow we've received (no, not like Boston, but still a lot): I have no snow banks, whereas other driveways have run out of places to push their snow and their existing piles are 6-7 feet high… Hate approaching my dirt road not being able to see traffic. Some of my neighbors have got to be having some problems there!

This is where the loader mounted plow is nice. Topping those piles, to Honda civic viewing height for my wife, is no problem.
