I am in need of changing out my E3112 23 hp Iseki in my GC2310. Found some used ISEKI motors on DieselEngineTrader, E3AF1 28 hp, E3AE1 27 hp, E393 15 hp, just not the E3112. Cant seem to find any dimensions on these to know if I can shoe horn one in or any other restrictions they may have. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions. Cant seem to get the original back together and run. Thank you

is rebuilding it an option? I know these power plants are pretty expensive new. I am curious too as I wonder if you can slap a 27hp in there if the bell housing and engine brackets line up.

The E3112 is not compatible with the other engines listed. However the E3112 has been around for years and variations of it are found in other MF tractors (GC2300, 1225, 1423, 1526 all come to mind). Go to one of the Craigslist search engine avaialble on the web and type in Iseki - seems to me I saw on in KS listed somewhere for quite a while.

What happened to the motor? Scorch a piston? Spin a bearing? Bend a rod?

I wonder what happened too. These lil masseys have such good reviews. I just bought one a month ago only 12 hours on it. This scares me. I know any machine can be problematic.

Keep it cool and full of oil and you should get plenty of service out of that little booger. These engines are pretty tough other than that. We have one that comes in for pm twice a year and it has roughly 4,000 hours on it.

A couple years ago I was mowing and it stuttered spit out black smoke and died. Had a few diesel guys look at it. spent many hours on it myself. compression test seemed to show center cylinder low. pulled the head found scratched bore. can not seem to find anyone around to rebuild it so I figured a used replacement would at least get it back to running

Smell inside the fuel tank. Possibly gasoline contamination, but I doubt it. Otherwise I think it overheated. The cylinder in the middle is always the first to go when exposed to high temperatures because it is sandwiched between the other two. It's not a hard rebuild, but the cylinders are not sleeved. My grandad used a paste of red devil lye and water to eat the aluminum off the bore so it could be reused without machining. It's also a good idea to use 3 new piston/ring sets with a rebuild. Tolerance for compression is 10% difference between the highest and lowest test results.

My concern is with the the injectors and injector pump, I just dont know enough to check them, had one mechanic pull them out and spray test them, we turned it over and they sprayed. I thought it had run out of fuel at first but that didnt seem to be the case, went thru and cleaned out the fuel system anyway. sometimes when it thinks it wants to start it just stops dead in its spin. I had thoughts of jumped timing but believe its all gear driven. the deeper I dug the more questions I had, till I just kind of gave up on it. Im at that point now where I have to do something. Looking in the area for Diesel mechanic that can work on these little things. I never had any problems before this. Its been a great little tractor

That’s really a shame. The engines are small and pretty simple and it seems like repairing it would be a lot simpler than trying to adapt another engine. Engine shop manuals are available from MF for $60 or so.

How low was the middle cylinder compression? Seems like it should still start with one cylinder low, but maybe not. What does your dealer say?
