Just a heads up when Massey updated the GC hydraulic quick connect couplers on the loader (2017-2018) they created a bit of a compatibility problem. If you happen to upgrade your pre 2017 tractor to a newer one - your older snowblower with the smaller fittings wont plug in! And of course I just realized this and its going to snow tomorow. Haha. Just figured i would share my whoops incase anyone else has a similar situation with the 2 different size fittings.

Your not too far from me so I know what you mean, I need to put my cab on tonight, and I still haven't put the lawn tractor away or taken the walk behind snowblower out of storage yet.

I have he GC2410 but what do you mean? You have an older model GC and bought a new loader for it? If so I am very curious how they fit mounting wise as I do love the quick disconnect feature on the new 1705 series.

I actually had a 2016 model that I traded in for a 2018 model... Hence the fitting mismatch since I kept my existing snowblower

Why did you upgrade from a 2016 to 2018?

New better seat, 2 more HP (1710 to 1720), had a chance to sell mine with 250hrs and get a new one for very little cash

Can you tell much difference with the 2 more HP?

Hard to quantify since there was no lack of power really on the 1710.. except for snow blowing. So the extra power will help with that.

Hi need help on a never experienced issue with the subassembly. After I hooked up the hydraulic line and attempted to line it up with the snowblower and I get no movement? The unit did rise initially using 5he joy stick but no motion / moment after that (?). I did recheck the hydraulic connection and topped off the fluid. Any suggestions?

PS. I want to trade in my GC2400 for a new 1700 so thanks for the note on loader / blower/ mower deck compatibility. I most need the adjustable roll bar so I can store in my shed ( no garage!!!)
Thanks much

sarekr-- If you're referring to the mounting "shoe": That will only go down by gravity -- the hydraulics only raise it. You have to hold the joystick in the "down" position and then put some weight on the shoe to get it to go down when there's nothing mounted on it. I use either my hand/arm or just step on it. It goes slowly, but it will go down.

When deciding on my tractor back in 2007, I hemmed & hawed over whether or not to get the BH option, an expensive add-on. One of the factors was the collapsible roll bar, for exactly the same reason you mentioned. (No, I don't use it a lot, but with an added thumb, the BH is amazingly effective at certain jobs I wouldn't be able to do otherwise, so I'm very happy I did get it.)
