Hey guys,

Got my level indicator today.... Havent looked at it too hard but it isnt immediately obvious to be how to attach it or if i need to fab something. Here is a pic - i also have a wedge shape grommet that i am guessing goes between the stationary tube and the fel arm... It also came with a hose clamp maybe they just clamp the tube right to the arm... The bent end of the rod is like 45mm ID if i remember orrectly - not sure where that would fit.

On mine the outside tube is red, where yours is black. Otherwise, same thing. Large loop connects at FEL pivot point. Rubber spacer goes between FEL and outside tube, secured with large hose clamp.
I posted a pic of mine yesterday on another post, but here's a repeat:

Don't remember, but yes, that's a possibility. I put it on quit a few years ago.

Once you get used to using the FEL, you probably won't need it much. I find that I still do look at it once in a while, though.

Here's a better pic of the business end; you'll have to pull that pivot pin out. Seems like when I did that, I replaced the bolts with clevis pins to make it easier to remove later. (Not sure why, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.)

Here it is mounted. I had to modify the inner and outer diameter to fit. I am guessing the cylinder ends are bigger than they used to be maybe.

On those pivot pins, I'd think that bigger is better! Looks like another "improvement" I missed with my older model GC.

Wait...is this a Massey part? If so, what is the part number and what did it cost?

It is a Massey part.. I dont have the number handy but... Wait i do have the grommet part number its 1081888M1. About 50$ for the clamp, rod, tube, & grommet. Give your dealer the number for the grommet they should be able to find the other items.

According to my invoice (from 2010), the part was # 7541503, "LEVEL INDICATOR ROD". Back then, I paid $25 for it. Sounds like I got a deal!

I didn't think about the level indicator when I bought my tractor. Thanks for all the pictures, now I can make my own. Not overly impressed with the way the rod is bent into a loop to wrap around the cylinder end, but it looks functional. Maybe I'll add a Zerk to the rod loop to keep it from wearing- :D

I'm used to having the level indicator on my other tractor, very handy.
