GC1700 series front axle greasing

Hi folks. I'm finishing up my winter tractor maintenance. As I finished up greasing the front axle pivot on a couple of other tractors, I couldn't remember doing the same for my GC1715.

I stopped what I was doing, and crawled under my MF with a flashlight. To matter what angle or where I looked, I couldn't find a grease zerk anywhere.

I searched online for information and came up with nothing. Finally, I called the dealership where I bought the tractor, and they didn't know either. So, they contacted Masey Ferguson, and we now have a definite answer.

Interesting. Since day 1 mine has some appreciable fore and aft slop in it that I forgot to ask the dealer about. If the pivot is indeed lubricated by the axle oil there should be some visible seepage. I’ll take a look as soon as I get up the gumption to go out in the rain. Thanks for your post

Yeah... I kind of noticed the lack of information in manual for fitting for greasing pivot.... The PDF file sort of explains a lot...

LangonBob and DL Meisen: you're very welcome to the shared information. There are members here on this forum who have helped me a lot too, so I feel it's only fair to share the information I was able to come up with.

IMHO, your equipment is only as good as the maintenance you put into it. I want my equipment to last me for a very long time, and I'm sure many others here do too.
