You could sure try, problem I see is how do you attach them without the pads getting ripped or tore off? The factory pads are metal encased in rubber which are bolted on. Give it a shot !
I decided to bolt a couple 22" long pressure treated 2 x 12's as outrigger pads. I bought some 1/2" grade 8 bolts and enough washers to make a 1/4" gap between the board and the outrigger foot. To recess the bolt head, I did have to splurge on a forstner bit 1 1/4". I spent about $80, and fully expect to replace the wood as needed. It's great for working in the yard, as my boots left deeper tracks. However, you don't want to lift the tires off with the outrigger, as your tractor will slide on those boards like skis when you grab on to a good load. It does work great on blacktop, too.
