The sender is right by the thermostat housing. I'm sure it works like a normal car temperature sending unit with high resistance when cold and low resistance when hot. Ohm it out and see what it gives you...

Checked all the fuses, they were ok.
Resistance dropped on the sending unit after the engine warmed up.
Pulled the plug on the dash to check the continuity of the wire from the sending unit......had to wiggle the wire at the sending unit end to get a beep. I suspect a break in the wire at the connector.
I will try a new connector this weekend and report back.
I cut the connector off, spliced in about 4 extra inches of wire.
I used a blue bullet connector since it looked like it was the same size as the oem connector for attaching to the sending unit.
Started the tractor.....the temperature gauge started working again.
