Bremse - I can give you my experience. Size wise I'm a couple steps bigger then mewaschuk but its all proportional. I have a mile long gravel driveway. I will use my Land Pride GS2584(LPGS) to smooth things out and my Bush Hog 720 ROBB(roll over box blade) to scarify, transport material from here to there and dig.
Any land plane grading scraper is, pretty much, a one type job implement. You hook it up - you pull it - it smoothes things out. It has almost a zero learning curve and is a good implement for driveway maintenance. The LPGS WILL NOT move material - other than to smooth out lumps. Mine has rippers also - so I can scarify and smooth.
The box blade will have a considerably longer learning curve but is a multi-purpose implement. Smooth things out - move material - dig - scarify if it has rippers.
Personally - for year round driveway maintenance - I prefer my Rhino 950. It a rear blade - 96" wide & 1050#. If snow removal is not a concern then I would definitely go with a box blade.
Unfortunately - my personal preferences enter into this evaluation also. I've used front blades and 3-point mounted snow blowers to move snow on my driveway. They both do the job - I prefer my rear blade. If you prefer a front blade or blower to move snow - then the LPGS or box blade may be all you need to do summer maintenance.
I have and use my rear blade - my LPGS and my ROBB - all for driveway maintenance - year round.
