I'm probably going to buy a used GC2310, hopefully next month some time. None of the three used ones that I've found in Ontario have block heaters or recirculating antifreeze heaters on them.

I've got recirculating antifreeze heaters on my current (bigger) equipment, and they work well (until they burn out, at which point it is simple, cheap, but messy, to replace them). I've no experience with block heaters.

Does one work better than the other on a GC2300/GC2310?

Is there space under the GC2300/GC2310 hood for a recirculating antifreeze heater? Or should I spend the extra bucks and get a block heater?

It's pretty tight under the hood of the 2300/2310. I would say there is no room in there for a recirculating type coolant heater. I have the MF 400 watt block (coolant) heater and it works very well. It goes into the place of the front freeze plug on the left side of the engine block. Easy to install but the coolant does need to be drained somewhat below that level.
