Hi all. Just a quick enquiry. I was just about to switch our 6 year old GC2300 FEL to the snow thrower for the winter. In the near dark, I could see hydraulic fluid running (as opposed to dripping) from some place above the left side rear wheel drive shaft, too dark to see exactly where. It seemed quite high up as it was running down the left side as well as the front near the hydraulic filter. No known damage or anything comes to mind but it has been very dusty/dry so I was wondering of a plugged vent or accumulated debris somewhere was causing the fluid to vent out?

Just wondering if this might ring some bells with the more experienced guys here before I can get it into the garage to get a better look.

Thanks for sharing any thoughts.

Could be a loose hose or fitting under the seat or even a split hose.

That is a new one.

But, there are hoses behind the seat, up near the top of the transmission housing that could potentially be leaking.

Thanks. At least I know where to start looking now. I'll report back later.

One of the two hydraulic hoses I've had to replace was one that went all the way from the front to the back. Seems like it was in the area you're talking about. (Not sure because it was a couple years ago....) WBB

Well, I've had a look at the problem. When I started her up to put her into my heated garage there didn't seem to be any leakage at all. However, once I got some lights on the area I could see a bit of oil way up just below the fuel tank. Just to see where the oil was coming from I cycled the 3 pt hitch lever. This started a huge gush of foamed up oil from somewhere higher up somewhere out of sight under the fuel tank.

After contemplating what it would take to get at that area, I've decided to have it taken into the dealership for repair.

Thanks for the responses, guys.
