Mowing GC2300 MMM Mower - Suspended?

I have a GC2300 with FEL and MMM. Is the mower desgined to be suspended? I was reattaching my mower yersterday and noticed that the front clearance is about 1/2 inch less than the rear.

my front is slightly lower too. My CC is set up the same way. I keep mine suspended and only use the rollers and outside wheels as antiscalp. My yard looks good when set up this way and much quieter while mowing!

There has been many posts on this issue. IMHO the MMM should be suspended and the wheels only touch the ground on a high spot to prevent scalping. At least that is the way I adjusted mine.

leveling do the following:
where the lift arms at the rear of the deck...unhook those, you'll have to then remove a clip I believe. You'll see the threaded adjustment where the lift arms attach. that'll get you side to side. there's also so adjustment threads on the front where the deck attaches to the the arms that connect the front.

do just a little at a time....once you get it right, it makes a perfect cut!

for the height....how far it goes down, there's an adjustment knob on the floor with a gauge on it....lift the deck, turn the knob, lower deck....do that until you find the height you want! then mark the gauge with a marker so when you need to keep the deck raised while doing other work you'll turn that knob to keep it raise...then all you have to do is turn the knob until the guauge lines up with the mark and your back to your setting.

I can cut my yard with it and you can't tell that I didn't use my Cub....I mainly only cut the lake lot, but if I'm in a hurry I'll cut the yard with it...60" vs 42"

I am going to agree with everyone else. Suspended and the wheels only touching for anti-scalp. Does a great job and the lawn looks great.

So do you make the side to side and back to front level? Or 1/2" lower on the front as others do? I have the 54" Mulching deck.....

mine is leveled side to side. the front is about 1/2" lower than the rear. I have the 60" side discharge deck on mine.

I bought the unit without the deck as it was ordered in ( mulch deck which costs MORE than the 60" side discharge.... not sure if it was a smart buy or not ! Comes with 6 blades and is a stamped metal deck ) so the the dealer never set up the mower. I set it up as per the manual tonight. Adjusted the left/right arms a little, the front bracket I did not touch as the manual does not say how to set it up for front to back measurements. Lifted the wheels all the way up and will try using the height adjust for the height with the wheels just "skimming" the ground.... wish Massey's manuals were better.....
