Took a 3 day weekend and spent most of it on the tractor. Moved about 24 tons of topsoil, tore out a bunch of brush and trees, dug up stumps and generally had a blast.

Added a 5' blade to back. Makes smoothing out topsoil much easier.

But here is the problem, and my main complaint about this tractor. The 3 point control is in a bad spot and I continually hit it with my leg. A couple times the front loader acted bizarre; going up when I was trying to put it down etc. Then it would work. In other words; sporadic operation. It quit working totally at on point yesterday so I put the machine in neutral, set the brake(this is for all the safety nitpickers) and got off and tried it and it worked. Finally realized that my leg was hitting the 3 point control and it appears that if it is out of the home position for any length of time, the front loader starts acting erratic. And the longer it is out of the home position, the more erratic it gets. So now I listen for the "whine" of the hydraulic system to remind me to keep my leg off the 3 point lever.

Other than the 3 point issue, the tractor performed quite well. Even to the point that my wife agreed it was money well spent. And that's sayin somethin.

I have experienced the same issue with mine and was thinking about putting a stop on the lever so that it would only raise so high and not cause the relief valve to buzz. Have you done anything like that with yours since your post?

The only change I did make was putting a beefier spring on the the 3pt control to get it to return to center quicker.

It seems that the only time I push the lever up with my leg is when I turn around to back up. I installed a couple of small fender washers (w/screw & nut) between the lever and the upper distance, thinking that perhaps this would stop the lever from going all the way to the top, which it did. But, it also stopped the lever from moving up enough to activate the hitch system.

I wonder if MF would be interested in letting us try out their new model designs for evaluation and feedback? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
