Any idea as to how to get this part off the spline.
Spring clip is off.

It's where the four wheel drive foot pedal connects.

All ideas worth trying.

Mac, you're the teacher on this one!

I looked in the service manual; it always shows pics of the transmission with that lever already off, with no description of how to remove it, but it appears the snap-ring is the only piece holding it on. Maybe some heat to expand it?

Is this yet another problem on this 2310?

I'm sure not starting out right on this one cause it is where the break peddle rod connects, not the front wheel drive pedal. Ha! Ha!

Anyway I sat on the floor and looked at it when a chap dropped in and suggested I start with a very thin peice of metal and get it in the space between the lever and the chasis. Approx 1/16th play on the shaft moving in and out. He suggested not to pound to hard on the center of the spline. I would get thicker and thicker peices of metal, then tap on the center. (spline). I worked and worked at it until I could get a set of pullers on it.
Finally got it off. Now to get it to a feller with a torch to heat it up and bend it straight.
Ordered the plug for that other job (seal leak at the HST) but it won't be in for another week.
My new 26hp Sears mower came today. Won't be able to use it for awhile because the ground is soaked and it has been cloudy and raining for almost 26 days.
