GC2310 BH Operating RPM??

With practice the hoe operates very well at full rpm. The GC 2310 is the smoothest compact hoe I have operated, most compacts are jerky at any speed. If you have ever run a Terimite you know what I am talking about.
As far as the PTO speeds most of the time you are putting a load on the engine, operating the PTO device, which is going to drop the RPM's down anyway is it not? I have not used my PTO yet so I do not know how powerful it is.

Actually the motor does not seem to drop much rpm on load, hence why i was wondering about full throttle and the pto. But as you have said, prior to 2006 there was no tach, so how would you know anyway ?

When engaging the PTO the RPM's drop a couple hundred and then come just about back to where they were before. MAybe a tick less, after the PTO is engaged then readjust the RPM's. The manual states that the PTO should be engaged at a lower RPM to lower shock the the driveline. Any thoughts?

I ALWAYS start the pto at lower rpm, then ramp upto speed. Engaging at high rpm puts major undo stress on your pro driveline and implements. Kinda like pooping the clutch on a vehicle. The only implement I start at a LITTLE higher rpm is my brush mower, as it takes a lot of power to get the blades turning....
