Ballast GC2310 Grill Guard Weights

Well I bought the thumb (Brotek) for my gc2310 and I've found that I can pick up more than my tractor weighs at the pivot point. Going up slopes the front end gets super light and it it pretty dicey to drive. Does anyone have any experience with front weights?? Where to get them and how much they cost?

My local dealer was pretty sure they don't make weights for the grill guard that can be used with the loader on. Any thoguhts?

Why not fill your loader with rocks. Just an idea.

The only way to add grill guard weights is to remove the FEL. The cross bar will hit the weights. Fill the bucket is the easiest, or you could fill the tires or add wheel weights?

Are you driving the tractor with something hanging from the backhoe?

Have you tried turning the BH to the side in the tucked up position? (keeping it closer to the mass of the tractor itself). Of course it really all depends on how steep the slope is.

That is what I mentioned when everyone was getting excited over the thumb. I had an anvil hanging off the hoe and my front wheels were in the air.
Put as much weight in the front bucket as you can find, and my guess is thats about the most you will be able to carry on the back.

How much did you pay for that 'thumb'? I'm thinking of getting one, but I don't want to weld or bolt anything to the boom...seen a couple of ebay...just seems $400 is an awful lot for something like that...gonna attempt to make my own...any pics?
