I see that the spec sheet for the GC2310 shows a total length of around 14' 9". My landscape trailer is 10' long and 7'6" wide and rated at 2995 Lbs GVWR. When I go to pick up the unit will it fit on my trailer ? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Maybe with the loader bucket up on the trailer "A" frame and the back hoe off to one side? It looks like it will be close on the weight rating also, but I'm going to put the new mid mower deck in the pickup bed. I'm going to have to keep D.O.T. weigh stations in mind also due to the multiple state 500 mile trek. So should I have to keep "X" number of chains/straps on the tractor and "X" number of chains/straps on the hoe and loader bucket and or outriggers? For some reason ($$$$FINES) I always see trucks with backhoes on trailers " pulled over " for inspection in our county. We would all like to comply, for safety reasons, if we knew the laws of equipment load tie down requirements. Thanks.

Forgot to mention that I'll be pulling the single axel 10' trailer with a very capable '03 Dodge 2500 H.O. Cummins turbo deisel so the brakes are up to snuff. After reading some horror stories about over taxed, "non-braked" single axel trailers I'll be looking for a used 16' tandem axel trailer with brakes sooner than later. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I was able to back my 2310 onto my 5x10 trailer, with the backhoe hanging over the front and swung off to one side. My trailer had a mesh gate on the back, so after raising the gate, I lowered the loader bucket over it. Straped it down and travelled 100 miles with no problems, but it was after the DOT was home. I have another 5x10 that tilts and it fits on it also, but the loader bucket hangs over, so I sit it on two 2x6 which are under the tractors front wheels. works great to get around locally.

In response to your question about the 2310 on a trailer, the only words of caution that I might offer is that the backhoe subframe may contact the ground if your trailer has short loading ramps, as is the case when I load my 2310 on a 20' float trailer. My soloution to the problem is to back the 2310 onto my trailer. With respect to tie-downs I use 4 straps on my 2310. 1 on each side of the subframe at the front of the tractor, 1 through the backhoe frame to prevent hopping and 1 at the rear to keep the tractor from flying forward in the event of an unplanned emergency stopping situation. As I am sure you know avoid placing your chains/straps on any hydraulic services. I hope this info is useful.

Found out from DOT inspector that you need a minimum of (6) SIX RATED tie downs on a TLB. Four, one on each corner of the tractor as if was by itself and one each... on the loader and backhoe as if they were by themselves. Each chain or nylon strap (straps are OK) must be rated for the GWR of the item being held down. i.e. at least 3000lbs. for the tractor and 1000lbs. for each of the implements. Makes sense since there is a slight possibility of an implement coming loose. He said people don't know so it is a large revenue source. You might want to have your truck weighed with the trailer loaded and attached due to the extra weight on the tonge(hitch) causing the total GVWR to exeed the GVWR on the truck. Another "source" he stated.
