I removed my snowblower last night and went to install the front end loader and backhoe on my GC2410. Removal was very easy however when it came to connect the loader hydraulics it was quite a chore. It took over an hour to get the loader hydraulic connectors to connect. I cleaned all the connectors before trying to insert them but I just could not get the connectors in far enough so that they would latch. It took an hour of trying before I could get them to latch. Then I tried the backhoe and eventually gave up.

The issue I am having is they will not push in far enough for the latch to lock them in place. I spent an hour last night reading through the manuals and could not find anything within as to what I should be doing or how to solve the issue.

Has anyone expiernced this issue and have some suggestion on how to overcome the issue.

This is the first winter season for these attachments. The tractor is not quite a year old. All last summer the connectors worked just fine as I installed and removed these items with relative ease.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Mark, It's a common problem-and not related to your MF at all, we have all been there.

The reason you can't connect the lines is that pressure has built up in them either from settling or expansion (temp change). Two way to solve this for you is:

-Place a rag over the QD nipple and press it against the frame to let out a little spurt of fluid.

-Take two wrenches and loosen the QD, but again be sure to cover with a rag as fluid will shoot out. Wear gloves also!.

Mark, you have pressure on the lines to the implement. Take something that will release the pin on the implement's quick connect line. Stand back because the released fluid may shoot quite some distance. So watch where it is pointed.

Activate the joystick in all directions relieving the pressure when the implement is settled, and taking your hydraulic implements off the tractor.

For you GC2400 owners, if you have the recall maintenance done and your hydraulics lock up, the mechanic has probably reversed a couple of the leads to your valve. It's not a big thing, just reconnect the lines till they work correctly, then re-color code them.

That worked like a charm. Thanks very much for the information.

This forum is TERRIFIC...

I had the same problem after taking off my snowblower and connecting the fel and figured it was due to pressure build up due to temp change from the fel as the usual joystick method did not work. I adjusted a large adjustable wrench to so it would slide over the hose but catch on the connector then gingerly hit the wrench with a rubber hammer. They all popped in much easier than I anticipated.
