Loader GC2410TLB FEL Joystick - Swap Up and Down Control???

Hi,

New owner of a 2008 GC2410. Probably a dumb question but this bugs me enough that I have to ask it anyway. I know it's all how you look at it, buuttt is there any way to swap the loader controls so when I move the joystick up the bucket goes up? Any thoughts? It has to be harder than just swapping hoses because of the float detent.

The simplest way is to turn the valve upside down ... but then your bucket will be backwards also.:shocked:

If that is what you want then just change the hoses. The float detent would then be on the bucket curl, up or down dependent on what you want. WHY do you want to change it????

Thanks for the reply. I can't get used to it. It seems counter intuitive. I think it's because I used to work in the woods, logging (long time ago). I drove a cable skidder. Move the handle up and the blade went up..

Do all the manufactures CUT's and SCUT's FEL controls work the same way. i.e. control up = bucket down?

Can you bend the stick so it ends in a vertical position? I did this to mine and, although it looks like a minor thing, its actually MUCH more intuitive. Pic attached. (Push forward and it goes down. Pull back and it goes up.)

Of course, remove the joystick before you try to bend it.

Swapping things around could upset the float. You don't want the loader arms to drop if you push 'UP' too hard.

That's a good idea. I see what you mean about being more intuitive..

The proper thing to do would be to turn the valve 180 degrees then swap the up and down hoses, this would give you push to raise + pull back to lower and float would be in the correct position.

If you don't still use the skidder, why not just get used to it, then you will be trained for everything else on the market. I run into motion memory when I operate my hydraulic shuttle tractor for any given period of time and then go to the HST and a little less visa versa.

266 hrs on my 2410... I would never consider changing those controls.

Wait until you do some serious digging with the existing setup before doing something you would (imho) really regret.

Thanks for all the reply's. Like I said, dumb question. Getting more comfortable with it but it still requires mental "move bucket down, ok, move control up.. " as opposed to not thinking about it and just doing it.

If that's the biggest problem in my life then I'm in pretty good shape..
