Here I am living in a another state on 200 acres with my puny little gc2610. I purchased the tractor when I lived on five acres and now I regret not purchasing a larger one. Anyway, I dented my oil filter on the hydro trans. going over some rough terrain. Just wondering if it is a problem. I think I need to invest in some kind of skid plate or fabricate one to protect underneath since my work will now take more into the woods. Any suggestions? What do you think of the value of my tractor if I trade it in or sell it privately. I purchased it new in Oct of 2011 . I have the front mounted snow blower plus the 60"mmm. It is in excellent shape with 260hrs, fully serviced and greased reg. I run Amsoil, thanks to this site. Any input would be great.

Since the filter is not leaking yet you can keep on using it. Do you know if this filter is on the suction side of the charge pump, pressure side, or return flow. If pressure side of charge pump I would consider replacing the filter since it has been weakened in the dented area.

Yes to skid plate. Same problem on BOTA BX models.

Not sure how the filter is located within the hydraulics. I just picked up some 3/16" steel plate. Hopefully I can get something fabricated. My only concern is the low hanging brake arms. Maybe I can reposition the arms higher up on the splined shafts? Any input on this?

Make sure that there is still adequate air flow for cooling.

I would buy a filter, but not replace it early unless it fails.

The small dent in the oil filter is not an issue so long as there are no leaks.

I would be much more concerned with 260 hours on a hydrostat without changing the filter that was installed at the factory.

Agreed plus striking something to really damage the filter. From the photo the filter appears to be attached to a very expensive part to replace.

Filter looks like its been changed. It's not painted like the factory one. Plus he said he's running amsoil.

Filter was changed at 50 hrs when I installed the Amsoil. It is an OE filter.
