I have a 1610 TS and was getting ready to change transmission fluid and was told to use hydraulic transmission fluid from a dealer and the book called for 90W gear oil. The dealer also said that it did not matter. I was just wondering what everyone else uses and also there are 2 plugs underneath one being under the transmission and one at the rear of the axel. Are both of these the same? I bought a 5 gallon bucket of 303 from Tractor Supply and thought I would ask what everyone else uses before I put this in. Thanks in advance, Rambo

I have a 1910 and I have no idea if the tractors are similiar. My tractor has a separate resavoir for hydraulic fluid. I use a 80w90 gear grease in the trans and hyd. oil for that resavoir. Have you a place to fill the hydraulic fluid under your seat?
If you do, I would think that your dealer may be mistaken and I would use gear oil in the transmission. Like I said, I really don't know but I didn't know when I bought my tractor and thats what I was able to determine. Good luck

Thanks Robert. Well, I do have a place under the seat for the hydro fluid for the hydraulics. I went ahead and put in hydro transmission fluid in the transmission since I was told by other sources that it really would not matter. One is good as the other. They would prefer 80W90 if you live up North. Hopefully everything will work out. Thanks, Rambo
